Starting a blog has always been my “someday-maybe” thing. Recently a friend of mine asked if I know someone who could build their website and I knew that my husband could help them. During the process my mind was telling me “now would be a good time”. I carried it with me for a few weeks and then a couple of weeks ago a notification came up on my calendar – “World Mental Health Day, October 10th” a switch went off.

That notification gave me a purpose, motivation and a deadline. I decided that my blog will be ready before the 10th and that I will use the 10th to raise awareness about mental health issues. Even if it reaches one person and helps them in a difficult time, it’s worth the effort.

I am passionate about mental health, and through my work and life experiences, I have seen how small changes make a huge difference. Little time, attention, a kind person to talk to, healthy activities, time with loved ones, relaxing bath or a walk, can make a difference. Increases your quality of life or gives you a way to release some stress, low mood or anxiety. Learning how you can control and change your thoughts or physical symptoms of anxiety or stress is easy and so liberating. So hence my website, blog, Instagram and Facebook – if I can help some people this way and make a difference, it’s worth it. And if nobody reads it, it will give me a chance to practice my writing skills for the book that one of my friends keeps asking me to write.. 😉
